Trusting the Wind

In this issue:

色づきて 散るや木の葉の 風まかせ
Irozukite / chiru ya konoha no / kaze-makase

Green leaf turns to gold,
Swept away upon the wind,
Trusting where it lands.

New Season

Welcome to September, and to the gentle slowing of the season as we turn toward autumn and its quieter, more reflective tempo.

There is something about this time of year that invites us to pause, take stock, and consider what comes next.

For me, this September marks the beginning of a new chapter.

As many of you know, my clinical practice is changing as I begin a new program of study on September 15. I am very excited about this next stage, and also very grateful that I will be able to continue seeing patients while I study.

This month, I want to explain what my new schedule will look like, and share options for other practitioners whom I know, trust, and feel confident recommending.

New Schedule (Same Location)

The realities of balancing clinic, home, and school mean that my clinical hours will necessarily be more limited for the foreseeable future.

Beginning in the second week of September, I will be seeing patients on Thursdays and Fridays, with three treatment sessions available each day (9:15 am, 10:45 am, and 12:15 pm).

That gives me six weekly treatment appointments.

With fewer appointments available, I strongly encourage you to book well in advance if you would like to continue seeing me. (I want to see you too!)

To book a treatment with me, please book online or contact Dupont Naturopathic Family Centre.

New Patients & Referrals

While I will continue to see my current patients, I will not be taking on new patients for the next few years.

I have always considered it a great privilege to be your practitioner of choice, and I am deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in me over the years. At the same time, with my reduced availability, there will inevitably be occasions when I cannot see you when you need care.

When that happens, I want you to have good alternatives. I would much rather see you receiving good care from someone I trust than waiting unnecessarily for an appointment with me.

With that in mind, I have put together the below list of practitioners whom I trust — and feel confident recommending to you.

The Referral List

Good healthcare is rarely about one person or one treatment. It is often about bringing together different skills, perspectives, and approaches. It is also important to know who to turn to when a particular practitioner is unavailable, or when another kind of care may be more appropriate.

I have trained with some of these practitioners, taught or been involved in their training, worked alongside them, or experienced their treatment personally. They’re good people.

Please save this list somewhere. And, most importantly, use it.

Closing Reflection

Change is not always easy (for either of us in this relationship!) but I have always felt that a good healthcare practice should be bigger than any one practitioner.

My hope is that the list above gives you confidence that, when I am not available for you, there are other excellent people you can turn to. Some of them work in ways that are very similar to mine; others approach health from quite different perspectives.

That’s a good thing. You should have choices.

And, of course, if you do come to see me, I will continue to give you the same care, attention, and commitment that I always have — just within a somewhat smaller schedule.

Thank you, as always, for your trust, your support, and the privilege of being part of your healthcare journey.
